The New Car

Mr. and Mrs. Husky, the Husky mother and father, made cars for everyone in the village. Mr. Husky was a car designer who came up with wonderful ideas for new cars. Then Mrs. Husky, who was an engineer, built them.
Nobody could make cars quite like Mr. and Mrs. Husky. Their cars were very comfortable to ride in and looked so cool! Everyone from the babies to the grown-ups loved them.
Hayden Husky and Pauline Husky wanted to be just like their mother and father when they grew up.

One day, Hayden and Pauline came bounding up to their parents eagerly.
"Our friends said you're going to make a new car," said Pauline. "Is it true?"
"We are!" replied their mother. "It will be the best car we've ever made."
"Ooh!" cried Hayden excitedly. "Can we help?"
"Why not?" replied their father. "You can help us come up with a good design."

Hayden and Pauline sat down at the table and began to draw pictures of the cars they could make.
"Let's make a car that can go really fast!" cried Pauline, who loved speeding along on her bike. "Vroooooooom!"
Hayden liked to look for rare flowers and trees. He wanted to be a botanist—someone who studies plants.
"Let's decorate the car with flowers and leaves," he suggested. "Like this!" And with that, he drew flowers and leaves all over the doors and roof of the car he had designed.

Hayden and Pauline worked and worked on their designs, but they soon realized that it wasn't as easy as it looked!
"Uh oh", said Pauline. "I've forgotten the wheels! And the steering wheel!"
"So have I," replied Hayden. "This isn't much of a car."
Pauline and Hayden were very disappointed. They had tried so hard to design a good car.
Just then, their mother and father saw what they had come up with.
"What a wonderful idea!" cried their father.
"This will make a fantastic car!" agreed their mother. "Thanks, you two!"

Mr. and Mrs. Husky worked on the new car in the workshop, and at last it was finished. Everyone in the village came over to see it.
When Mr. and Mrs. Husky brought out their new car, Hayden and Pauline couldn't believe their eyes. Their parents had built a sled for the triplets with a beautiful flower pattern carved into it!
The villagers were very surprised indeed to see a sled instead of a car.
"We decided to make something special," explained Mr. Husky.
"It was Hayden and Pauline's idea," added Mrs. Husky.
The triplets loved their new sled. Hayden and Pauline pulled them along and they squealed with delight.
As the triplets bumped along in their sled, they began to feel sleepy. The other villagers looked on happily. Mr. and Mrs. Husky had done it again!
